Actuarial Director / Actuarial Senior Director

  • We’re looking for a skilled leader and highly analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Director or Senior Director to join our Actuarial Function at MBPS. As a senior expert, you’ll manage leaders and high-performing teams to deliver to the standard the MBPS Actuarial team has defined through years of excellent service while overseeing individual tasks, driving strategic initiatives, and various additional responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and support a skilled team of actuaries to support the company’s strategic data analysis, risk assessment, and business planning
    o Provides strong, proactive leadership and coaching to a team of actuarial professionals. Allocates and monitors work of the team to ensure accurate and timely completion of assignments within the established timeframes and quality standards.
    o Makes decisions regarding employment, compensation, performance appraisals, training and development.
    o Cultivates an innovative environment by supporting creativity and high-performance teamwork.
    • Support the business in tasks which may be within the following functional areas:
    o Valuation
    o Asset Modeling
    o Pricing
    o Experience Studies
    o Reinsurance
    o Retirement
    o Audit
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure precise financial projections, optimal pricing strategies, and effective risk-management solutions
    • Cultivate your team and create a culture that values continuous learning, professional development, and mentorship
    • Drive innovation by staying at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or other related fields of study
    • Minimum 10 years of actuarial work experience in Insurance or Financial Services
    • Fellowship designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP) is preferred
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build camaraderie across levels and business functions
    • Results oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
    • Strong business acumen with ability to communicate complex Actuarial concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner.
    • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar programs
    • Able to work in an evolving and dynamic environment
    • Passion to grow and driven to be recognized as a trusted business partner

    • Assist in the management of our skilled team of actuaries to support the company’s strategic data analysis, risk assessment, and business planning.
    • Support the business in tasks that may include the following:
    o Pricing
    o Portfolio Modeling
    o Asset Modeling
    o Valuation
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure precise financial projections, optimal pricing strategies, and effective risk-management solutions.
    • Drive innovation by staying at the forefront of industry trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements.

    Qualifications:

    • Progress towards attaining a designation in any recognized actuarial organization (SOA, ASP)
    • Working experience in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access), GGY AXIS, SQL, Qlikview, Python or similar program is a plus.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information, results, and recommendations to various levels across the organization.
    • Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Able to work in an evolving and dynamic environment.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build camaraderie across levels and business functions.
