Aida Josef has been in the actuarial industry for more than four decades. She has stood as a pillar for aspiring actuaries in the society and the academe.

Aida is currently an Actuarial Consultant for areas such as retirement plans, hospitalization/medical benefit plans and microinsurance. She was Vice President and Actuary for the National Life Insurance Company. She had also been Chief Actuary for Manulife Business Processing Services, and Vice President and Actuary for College Assurance Plan. Aida had also served for institutions such as the Private Education Retirement Annuity Association, Bancom Development Corporation and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). Apart from her industry experience, she has also taught for more than two decades at the University of the Philippines and Ateneo University.

Aida holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines (UP). She has also done coursework for a Master of Science in Statistics from UP and for a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Ateneo De Manila University.

Aida is a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines. She is a member of the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific, of the International Actuarial Association, of the Philippine Statistical Association and of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
